Be Your Own Valentine…
“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
– Buddha.
Valentines Day is upon us, and love it or hate it, it sure is tricky to avoid…
A day that is traditionally reserved for wining, dining, roses and candlelight, loved up couples and cheesy cards, aaah the romance! It’s also a day that brings a lot of pressure. Whether you’re coupled up or flying solo, comparison can creep in and your version of Valentines Day can feel a little below par.
Well stop right there because this February 14th we are challenging you to do things a little differently…
We’re making this day all about self-love and self-celebration. Celebration of you and your body and all the wonderful things that it can do and achieve day in and day out. We’re all guilty of giving out bodies a hard time occasionally, but this has to stop. We are amazing and our bodies are a fascinating gift, how can you be negative about something that is working so hard to keep you alive?
Claire has devised a little exercise for you to try out this week. Helping you to focus on all the incredible things that our bodies can do that can often be taken for granted. So grab some paper, a pen and press play on our video…
You can do this exercise anywhere, and as often as you like. Just grab a pen and start jotting! After a while, the way you think and feel about your body will change. You will start to shift your focus to the positive and wondrous things that you are capable of, instead of being drawn to your perceived ‘negatives’ or limitations.
Show yourself love, show yourself kindness, gratitude and fascination, not just for Valentines Day, but every day. Our bodies are our one true home, doing everything to keep us alive. It’s time for us to shower ourselves with the love that we deserve.
Happy Valentines Day lovely people…
